Custom Finish

Custom finish consists of a sprayed lacquer or spray paint, we can colour match to almost any colour within reason providing we have a formula or Dulux swatch. One of The easiest ways to do this is to go to a paint mixing station at your local hardware store and pick up a swatch. These come in a strip of six shades with the name and paint formula on them. This will help us to help you achieve what colour is required for you to complement your own personal taste.

Or alternatively you can visit the Dulux website which has a vast selection of colours to choose from (click here).

Custom Finishes - The Process

All components are spray primed using a Polyurethane base coat and hardener. When dry, all components are then "de-nibbed" using a very fine 400 grit glass paper which removes any woolly fibres.

The next stage is for the components to be prepared for the top coat by removing all the fine dust - this is done using a tack cloth making the components smooth and dust free ready for the next stage.

The top coat is Polyurethane paint with hardener to accelerate the curing time, It is similar to car paint in molecular structure with a sheen level of 25% which is equivalent to that of Eggshell or a Satin finish.  This is applied over a couple of coats to build up the durability and a quality finish. Dependant on the size of unit and consistency and transparency of the paint this whole process can take up to a day

WHILST EVERY EFFORT IS MADE TO MATCH COLOURS, THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SOME VARIATION IN FORMULAS DUE TO METMERIC PROPERTIES SHEEN LEVELS MAY ALSO AFFECT THESE PROPERTIES.
